94. Johnny Cash - Hurt

94. biisi on Johnny Cash - Hurt

Tutustuin tähän biisiin oikeastaan Gregorianin kautta heidän The Dark Side albumiltaan.

Varmasti useamminkin.

Pidän kuitenkin tällä hetkellä eniten Cashin versiosta. Siinä on juuri oikea tunnelma. Ja hieman Cashin tarinaakin tuntien biisi sopii hänelle.

Tarinaltaan biisi on synkkä.

94th song is Johnny Cash - Hurt

I got to know this song through Gregorian from their album The Dark Side.

It's kind of funny but I thought that Gregorian was the first one to record this song and I remember hearing Cash's version after few years of Gregorian's version. But actually, Cash recorded the song year before Gregorian did. Somehow, I didn't hear Cash's version until long before I bought the album from Gregorian as a fresh.

The original version from Nine Inch Nails I've heard least and actually it's not even played on the radio that much. It's notably different than the versions by Gregorian and Cash. Instead, Cash is played quite a lot, at least on Radio Rock, at least once per day. And I'm sure it's played even more often.

And I like the Cash's version most at nowadays. There's right feeling. And when knowing little bit of his own story the song fits for him perfectly.

The song is gloomy. And still I have some kind of interest of gloomy songs, although I don't churn with the songs anymore like I did in high school. Maybe it's just typical Finnish melancholy. But there is some very joyful major key songs too in this list ;)
