180. Kim Lönnholm - Minä olen muistanut

180. biisi on Kim Lönnholm - Minä olen muistanut

180th song is Kim Lönnholm - Minä olen muistanut

I don't really know if I like or dislike this song. Maybe I would turn more into dislike. Although, I did sing this song a lot on karaoke when I was a child and I think I somehow liked this song back then but nowadays I can't really stand this song anymore.

It's depressing, and lazy, and boring. Not even Jarkko Ahola could save it, although his version was little refreshing with his rock sound.

I also got to know that this is Eurovision song from Finland. The year was 1989. Although, Eurovision wiki can say that: "The jury of the specialists which had decision making power in the preliminary didn't quite like the song and it ranked 7th in the final results." No wonder. This is very depressing song, especially if you don't understand even the words.

p.s. I would put some Youtube videos from Lönnholm and Ahola but Youtube doesn't work at the moment, at least for me, so I will put the videos later (or forget the whole thing, as usual).

179. Lenni-Kalle Taipale Trio - Myrskyluodon Maija

179. biisi on Lenni-Kalle Taipale Trio - Myrskyluodon Maija

Myrskyluodon Maija on äärettömän kaunis biisi.

Lenni-Kalle Taipale + Myrskyluodon Maija onkin sitten todella mahtava yhdistelmä. Hieno sovitus, kerta kaikkiaan!

179th song is Lenni-Kalle Taipale Trio - Myrskyluodon Maija

Years ago I watched the Joonas Hytönen Show. But actually, I think I watched it purely because of the  cute pianist, Lenni-Kalle Taipale. With the show I introduced to this small and talented pianist and after that I've always been extremely happy when I have seen him behind the piano in any program.

Myrkyluodon Maija (Stormskärs Maja / Storm islets Maija) is extremely beautiful song. I like it how the mood drifts to another. The song works with lyrics or without. At one time I sang this when trying to get to schools. It irks me that I lost the notes after those entrance exams :(

Lenni-Kalle Taipale + Myrkyluodon Maija is wonderful combination. Utterly fine arrangement! I'm not a fan of jazz but it's OK in small portions. I think Lenni-Kalle Taipale was my first touch in good jazz and it's also easy enough. I also like piano so it's nice to listen when the player is virtuoso.

I must admit, I know nothing more about Myrkyluodon Maija except the things which you just can't avoid hearing. I haven't read the books or seen the TV series of them. Of course I've seen some short clips from the TV series there and there because they show it often on TV. I should read and/or watch it sometime. Just because of the common knowledge but also because of my own interest.

I don't understand why I haven't really listened Paramore more. I should. It's good. Although, I don't usually listen this kind of genre but I have a weakness for talented women who sing and there's one of them. I like the spirit of this young woman.

175. biisi on Disturbed - Darkness

173. biisi on Rednex - McKenzie Brothers

Pahoittelut, en löytänyt Youtubesta tätä biisiä.

Olen tavallaan nuorempana pelännyt tätä biisiä. Se on ahdistava. Varsinkin lopun huuto.

172. biisi on Benny Törnroos - Käy Muumilaaksoon

Muumit on ihania!

Moomins are lovely! I love them still.

I was shocked when they dubbed the Moomins again. The new dubbings are outrageously childish -_- Luckily I have all the original Moomins. I can watch them with proper dubbing again and again.

I should start reading also those Moomins books and comics. I wonder if I would have time to read at the end of the year?

171. Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum

171. biisi on Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum

Tämä on yksi lemppareistani Nightwishiltä. Anettesta huolimatta.

Toki Anettellakin on hyvät hetkensä. Esim.

----------------------------------------------

171. song is Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum

This is one of my favourites from Nigthwish. Despite Anette. This song is foreshadowing the future little bit on what is going to be found in next albums :) Holopainen started to make huge songs.

I admit that I found Nightwish only after Turunen was sacked. And I admit that I also applied to become their singer in the open lookup although I knew I don't have a chance. Although, I can't understand how they ended up picking Anette as their singer. I belong to those who think that Anette was mistake. Luckily she was replaced with Floor soon. Of course there's moments for Anette too. For example in the album Imaginaerium there's few songs which fit perfectly for Anette. But I think she never really fit in to the band's image and production.

I think that this is the album from Nightwish which I've listened the most. I'm a little bit ashamed of how little I've listened the others, especially the new ones. I blame the time. But especially this song I've been singing a lot, and also those parts which are sung by boy :)

Holopainen can and even if this song is so long (almost 14 minutes) it's not boring in any phase and it changes often enough. It's solid piece. Maybe there's a little bit echo of Holopainen wanting to be a movie composer. I could really imagine him to be a movie composer. I think that this sounds a little bit of the pieces that are played during end credits, especially the instrumental version. Although, maybe I will say a word about the Nightwish movie later...

170. Moving Breath - Triple Goddess Chant

170. biisi on Moving Breath - Triple Goddess Chant

Kuten aikaisemmin kerroin, olin kiinnostunut wiccalaisuudesta ja oikeastaan noidista ja luonnonuskonnoista muutenkin joskus nuorempana. Toki edelleenkin noidat ja kaikki mystiikka kiinnostaa. Haluaisin uskoa, että maailmassa on magiaa.

Wiccalaisuutta on aikoinaan pidetty saatananpalvontana (niinkuin vähän kaikkea muutakin) vaikka oikeastaan wiccalaisuus on yksi rauhanomaisista "uskonnoista" maailmassa.

Tein joskus aikoja sitten ihka oman lemmentaiankin. Ei se kyllä toiminut. En tehnyt sitä itselleni vaan yhdelle kaverilleni. Taitaa ns. "taikakalu" olla edelleen tallessakin.

Noihin aikoihin kuitenkin kuuntelin paljon mystistä musiikkia. Artemis on neito, Hecate muori.

Kappale: Triple Goddess Chant

---------------------------------------------------

170th song is Moving Breath - Triple Goddess Chant

Like I said earlier, I was interested in Wiccanism and witches and animistic religious in general when I was younger. Of course, I'm still interested of witches and everything mystic. I would like to believe that there is magic in the world.

Also Wiccanism has thought to be Devil worship (like almost everything else) although, Wiccanism is one of the most peaceful "religion" in the world. The basic doctrine is that if you do good or bad you will get it back in double. There's lot of rituals and mystic in Wiccanism and that's what interested me and still does. I'm just too lazy to practice any religion. Luckily, in Wiccanism, like in many other religion, participating is voluntary. There is some gatherings made for those who practice Wiccanism but you can practice the "religion" all by yourself too and do only the things that are most natural to you. Respect of nature and different goddesses is central in Wiccanism. The main aim is to do good but of course there are some of those who use Wiccanism for evil. But then you need to keep in mind that even the evil deeds will come back to you in double.

Years ago I even made my own love spell. It didn't work though. I didn't do it for myself but for my friend. I think I still have the "charm" somewhere.

At that time I also listened lot of mystic music. I was interested in Celtic music among the others and also the Finnish folk songs, spell songs etc. I even tried to read Kalevala but it was still too much at that time. I don't have a clue how I found this Triple Goddess Chant. Actually, I found out the performers today when I found this song. In the song there's three goddess which are so called main "deities" for many Wiccans too (like in many other neopaganism religions), Maiden, Mother and Crone. These three are reflecting the phases in women's lives and also the phases of moon. Wiccanism is strongly religion of women but there are some men who practice it too. In the song there's mentioned two Greek goddesses by name: Artemis and Hecate. Artemis is maiden, Hecate Crone. In addition there's Selene who is the Mother.

Still these things fascinates me and maybe I should continue on what I started a long time ago. I was going to introduce myself better into Wiccanism by literature but I never really read anything because I was a bad reader back then. Although, I don't think I'm going to be Wiccan anymore. I'm even more lazy nowadays to do the rituals. But if I should practice some religion I think I could manage to practice old Finnish folk religion. Although, I won't make an altar for my ancestors but I can respect the nature and remember elves with gifts now and then.

169. Astridin valssi

169. biisi on Astridin valssi

I like Finnish folk songs. One of my projects is to sing all the 120 Finnish folk songs from my note book to Youtube but the project is "a bit" work in progress.

This Astridin valssi (the Waltz of Astrid) is sooooooooooo sad. Finnish folk songs have a lot of sad subjects but I think this is the most sad from which I know.

But even though this is sad folk song, I still like it very much.

Olen Alexiaa tainnut kuunnella tämän albumillisen verran.

166th song is Alexia - Summer is Crazy

Teemu has had some summer hits in his list lately. Now I have a summer hit too.

But I remembered this to be more faster and more ongoing but maybe I remember some remix version then. This feels like, well, not dragging but slow.

I think I have heard Alexia about this album. My brother had recorded me a cassette where there were Alexia in one side and Princessa in another. I don't think the whole album fit in one side. Or it might have been that Alexia's album was fully recorded in the cassette and the album of Princessa was unfinished. I can't remember anymore. It also might be that the cassette is still there somewhere. Although, I don't have a clue where I have put all of my cassettes....

But yeah, Alexia is ok.

165. Aikakone - Nti Groove

165. biisi on Aikakone - Nti Groove

165th song is Aikakone - Nti Groove

Of course I have listened Aikakone. I wasn't a fan and didn't listen them actively but I do have their one album. The one with all the hits in it: Toiseen maailmaan. There's hit after hit in that album. I'm not even sure if I have ever heard any other song from other album than that. They are the most played ones after all.

I think the band made some kind of a comeback (like almost all 90's bands more or less). It didn't really consider me. They do have nice music so that's alright.

164. Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence

164. biisi on Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence

Eivät he kuitenkaan huonojakaan ole :D

164th song is Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence

This song was already here, but it was Disturbed's version. This is the original.

I mentioned earlier that, even though you would think that the Disturbed version would be distressing I actually think this original is more distressing. I don't know why. It's perky and even the tempo is much faster than Disturbed has. But it's just something. Maybe there's memory of feeling involved again.

It is fine song. But I must admit, I started to appreciate this song only after hearing Disturbed's version. I don't really know Simon & Garfunkel more than what I have heard from the radio and they were, in their time, well known and appreciated.

I don't think this song is that distressing anymore. It was many years ago. But I must admit, even though it's very rare that cover would be better than the original, I think Disturbed made very good and successful cover and even though there's nostalgia value in this song I think that Disturbed's version is better and I would more likely listen David Draiman. But I would like to listen something else from Simon & Garfunkel. They are not bad :D

163. Smurffit - Nörttismurffi

163. biisi on Smurffit - Nörttismurffi

On tässäkin ollut ideaa. Otetaan tunnettuja biisejä, tehdään uudet sanat Smurffihengessä ja muutetaan lauluääntä ja voila. Ihmiset rakastavat xD

Levyjä on kuitenkin kertynyt vol 23 asti vuodelle 2014. Sen jälkeen ei ole kuulunut. Onhan näissä monissa ihan hauskat sanoitukset kyllä :) Ja ainakin kahdella ensimmäisellä levyllä oli hyviä biisejä. Eli ehkä minä ymmärrän näiden suosion sittenkin.

What and idea. Let's take some known songs, let's make some new lyrics to them with the theme of Smurfs and let's change the singing voices and voila. People will love it xD

We had even two first albums. There's some nostalgia in them but otherwise Smurfs just doesn't hit me, except the old animation. Although, I have never really liked the animation either but I have watched it now and then.

I think some seriously listened these albums. After all, there's 23 albums until 2014. After that, nothing. But I must admit, most of the songs have pretty good lyrics :) And at least in the first two albums there were very good songs. So maybe I do understand why they were so popular.

162. Hopeanuoli theme

162. biisi on Hopeanuoli theme

162. biisi on Hopeanuoli theme

Ah! Yksi kaikkien aikojen lempi piirrettyni!

Rakastan edelleen Hopeanuolta, tarinaa, hahmoja. Uusin tuttavuus on Akamesta kertova mangasarja.

162nd song is Silver Fang theme

Oh! One of my all time favourite animation! Although, this wasn't children's animation, although everyone thought so back in the 80's and 90's.

Many years I thought that me and my old best friend (and my god parent's children) were the rare individuals which knew Silver Fang. But in my high school years I get to know people from the forum called Green Dragon who also knew about Silver Fang and after that I found out that there's quite lot of people from my generation which knew Silver Fang even though most of them wasn't especially manga/anime/fantasy enthusiasts.

Many years we also thought with my old best friend that the four VHS were the only things about Silver Fang. Although, we did wonder why there were so many big holes in the story. Eventually, we made up the explanations for some of the holes for ourselves. For example, Riki's death we explained that the old wounds opened up. But there were a lot of things that we just couldn't explain.

In my high school years I got to know that those four VHS with legendary bad dubbing was cut from series with 21 episodes. They cut the series because of its brutality. This blow my mind. There was a real explanation for the holes in the story. I really wanted to see the series as a whole!

Soon, in a few years, it happened. They released a DVD in Finland where there were all 21 original episodes with original voices in Japan (I must confess that, I had seen the episodes in Japan or Korean and with fan dubbing before the release of the DVD... I had downloaded them or someone else had downloaded them for me, I can't remember anymore).

My life brighten up immensely after seeing the episodes. Everything made sense now! I had also heard that the series was based on a manga. I've been trying to read it but because it's so popular, it's always loaned from the libraries. I should buy them for myself but I'm not sure if I can find all of them anymore. Hopefully I will find them because I'm going to buy them and then read them all!

I still love Silver Fang, the story, the characters. There's also other manga series which belong to the same world from the creator Yoshihiro Takahashi, like the manga about Silver Fang's father, Riki. There's also manga series about Silver Fang's son, Weed, which is also an anime (although, it's not even half as good as Silver Fang was, even the drawings are not that good, but still I would like to have the DVD collection and I would like to read the manga). The newest edition to the series is manga series about Akame.

Because there's such big sentimental value in the series, I've also gotten the sadly dubbed and cut versions for myself in DVD. Still I have to watch them once and awhile just because of the nostalgia :D

Oh, but the music. It's fine in this series. In my high school years, I had some kind of a china/japan phase and I was excited about anime and junk, and of course the music too. I wasn't very big Asian fan but it was a phase. And I liked more the music in series and games etc. and knew only few random bands or singers. Nowadays I know nothing xD It's a world of its own but still I do have some remnants on my playlists about that phase.

161. Ludwig van Beethoven - Fur Elise

161. biisi on Ludwig van Beethoven - Fur Elise

It's one of those piano pieces which I would like to learn to play. But I don't think I would have the patience for practicing anymore. And not enough time either. There's so much else to do.

I also remember one horror program directed to youths from this piece and I think it was played in one of the stories and it was strongly related to the story. That horror program was very interesting but I saw it only on accidental. I think it came from TV after school but I was always still at school when it came. I remember being very happy when I noticed that I had manage to come home at time I could see it. I'm not sure about the program's name. But it always started with few youths sitting around campfire etc. and one started to tell a horror story and then we could see the story. I think the program's name might have been Goosebumps (there's book series with the same name too :) ).

160. biisi on The Piano Guys - Peponi (Paradise)

Tämä on yksi lempi covereistani The Piano Guyseilta.

Musavideo on jälleen upea. The Piano Guyseilla oli jossain vaiheessa sarja jossa he tekivät musavideoita mitä ihmeellisimmissä paikoissa.

The music video is again amazing. The Piano Guys had a series where they made music videos in extraordinary places.

African music is fascinating and it suits well to this song. I've also seen the live version of this song (from the TV though) and it was also nice.

159. Kotiteollisuus - Satu peikoista

159. biisi on Kotiteollisuus - Satu peikoista

Satu Peikoista, hieno biisi. Tosin, sanoitus on Jouni Hynysen.

159th song is Kotiteollisuus - Satu peikoista

Satu peikoista (Fairy tale of trolls), wonderful song. It sounds like Kotiteollisuus but the lyrics aren't typical Kotiteollisuus. There's also Tuomas Holopainen marked as arranger so maybe that explains the small echo of Nightwish in this song. Although, the lyrics are by Jouni Hynynen. But it's well known that Hynynen is talented writer. He's not so much of that rough character in Kotiteollisuus that Hynynen indicates he is. :)

I love everything that's related to trolls, gnomes etc. different creatures. I'm some kind of an agnostic or atheist. But the difference is that, I like the idea that there's different creatures in the world. And if I had to choose a religion I would probably choose the old Finnish folk religion or some other animistic religion (I was interested about Wiccanism and Lehto religion back in days), with all its gnomes, elves, goblins etc. My brain says they are not real like there's no dragons, elves and hobbits, but I like the though that those exists, and that's why I "believe" in those. I "believe" in Santa Clause too. Maybe this is some kind of a "faith". It's hard to say. I've tried to figure out how religious people see their faith and why they believe what they believe, but without results. It's sensitive subject and because I question a lot and maybe I ask the wrong questions too, but most of the times people get angry at me. They are hard questions which I ask and I would have difficulties to answer them myself too, so maybe I understand why people get irritated of me and my questions.

158. Janna - Sä et ole hullu

158. biisi on Janna - Sä et ole hullu

Lähivuosina on tullut paljon suomalaisia nuoria naisartisteja. Valitettavasti minun korvaani ne kaikki kuulostavat aivan samalta.

Janna on Hurmerintojen tytär. Hurmerinnoilla on yksi iso hitti, Jäätelökesä, mistä pidän kovasti. Äitinsä on kauniimpi.

In a resent years there's been a lot of women singers in Finland. Unfortunately they all sound same to me.

Janna is the daughter of Hurmerintas. Hurmerintas has one big hit, Jäätelökesä (Ice Cream summer) which I really like. I've also always thought that Maarit Hurmerinta, Janna's mother, is very beautiful. Janna is also quite pretty but not really my type. Her mother is more beautiful.

And if Nylon Beat got bad mouthed because of their nasal singing, Janna is perfecting nasal singing. The singing disturbs me with Nylon Beat too, little bit, but with Janna it really disturbs me. And that song isn't anything special either. Maybe it could be better but not sung by Janna.

So, I don't like Janna. What is more, I constantly mix her up with all the other Finnish women pop singers who are using only their first name as their artist name.

157. Nylon Beat - Takapulpetin poika

157. biisi on Nylon Beat - Takapulpetin poika

In this song there's memory of feeling and it also includes the memory of a place. I listened Nylon Beat quite a lot when I was in junior high school and this song reminds me of my room at Koosakuja in that time.

This is ok song. It was nice to sing. I could still sing it. The lyrics doesn't fit for a junior high school student as a whole but considering that I too had one special crush through primary school, although it was impossible equation, there's still something to identify with in this song.

156. Kirka - Leijat

156. biisi on Kirka - Leijat

Biisiin liittyy tunnemuisti josta en oikein taas saa kiinni.

156th song is Kirka - Leijat

I didn't like Kirka when I was a child but now when I'm older I've started to appreciate him more.

Although, I still don't like Leijat (Kites). Well actually, there's nothing wrong with the song really. I just don't like the feeling of the song. I have some kind of memory of feeling in this song which I can't quite catch. But it's distressing. It's a shame because this is a fine song. But I just get a funny feeling when listening it.

For some reason, I do have a memory of some sort that, this song would have been in a movie as a background music when the main character dies. Although, I don't have a clue which movie it is. I have a dim memory that it would have been about a Finnish artist but I know it's not about Irwin and I don't think it's about Badding either, why on earth there would be this song on the background then. I know it can't be Kirka because, as far as I know, there's no movie about him (yet). Or maybe my memory is playing me tricks, I've seen a dream or invented the whole thing.

155. The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)

155. biisi on The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)

Tämä biisi on yksi niistä harvoista rock biiseistä josta pidin jo muksuna. Toki, en muuta sitten The Offspringiltä kuunnellutkaan.

155th song is The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)

This is one of those rare rock songs which I liked when I was a child. Of course I didn't listen anything else from The Offspring. But this was a hit and it was much played at discos etc. This was a good song and still is.

In some twisted way I have also always liked the music video :D

154. John Williams - Indiana Jones Theme

154. biisi on John Williams - Indiana Jones Theme

154. song is John Williams - Indiana Jones Theme

Indiana Jones movies have also been my favourites since my childhood. And of course, the music is composed by John Williams.

Although, I've seen the movies millions of times I have to watch them again and again. I didn't really like the fourth movie, though. There were some juicy jokes. Marion is wonderful and I really liked the spiky relationship between her and Indy and the son was also quite funny. But in my opinion the movie's mystery went little bit too far.

I have heard rumour that there's going to be fifth Indy movie. I'm not excited. But I think I have to watch it still.

153. Blackmore's Night - Shadow of the Moon

153. biisi on Blackmore's Night - Shadow of the Moon

Tutustuin Blackmore's Nightiin lukioaikoinani.

Omistan tämän Shadow of the Moon albumin. Tämä on ehkä bändi jonka levyjä haluaisin omistaa enemmänkin. Biisejä kuunnellessa haluaisin mennä albumin kuvan mukaisesti jonnekin metsään nuotion äärelle laulamaan ja soittamaan ja toki pukeutua viittaan ja pitkään mekkoon.

153rd song is Blackmore's Night - Shadow of the Moon

I introduced myself into Blackmore's Night when I was at high school. My interest about middle ages helped me to fell into this band which was recommended for me by my friend. My friend said that I sound like the singer, Candice Night.

The band consists of a couple and they play ethnic rock with a tint of influence from middle ages, or something like that. Ritchie Blackmore is more known of this couple, he's the one of the founder members of bands like Deep Purple and Rainbow.

Did you get where the name comes from? Blackmore's Night? ;)

This is good music and Candice has a beautiful voice and it's nice to sing these songs. I own this Shadow of the Moon album. But maybe I would like to have more albums from this band. And while listening the songs I would like to go to the forest like in the cover picture, I want to sing and play there around the fire and dress in a cloak and in a long dress.
