60. biisi on Disturbed - The Sound of Silence

Minulla on alkuperäiseen Simon and Garfunkelin versioon ristiriitaiset tuntemukset. Nämä kaksi eri versiota ovat tunnelmiltaan jotenkin niin erilaisia. Molemmat ovat hieman ahdistavia, mutta en tiedä miksi minusta ahdistavampi on kuitenkin Simon and Garfunkelin versio kun taas Disturbedin versiossa tuon oudon ahdistavan tunnelman joka biisissä on, saa purettua, kiitos David Draimanin upean murinan. Se on jännä, että minä tunnen näin päin, kun oikeastaan Simon and Garfunkelin versio on paljon pirteämpi kuin Disturbedin.

Olenkin miettinyt, että liitänkö Simon and Garfunkelin biisin vahvasti johonkin tapahtumaan ja sen takia se vaikuttaa minusta ahdistavammalta... mutta en ole tähän päivään asti saanut kiinni siitä, miksi se on minusta hieman ahdistava.  

Joka tapauksessa rakastan tätä Disturbedin versiota. David Draimanin ääni on juuri oikea tähän biisiin! En oikein tiedä mistä biisi kertoo, ja ei tunnu tietävän kukaan muukaan. Biisin aiheesta on heitetty ehdotuksia  John F. Kennedyn murhasta Vietnamin sodan vastustamiseen.

60th song is Disturbed - The Sound of Silence

I have contradictory feelings about the original version of this song by Simon and Garfunkel. These two versions are so different with their atmosphere. Both are little bit oppressive, but still, I don't know why, I feel that the version by Simon and Garfunkel is more oppressive than the version by Disturbed, because Disturbed gets to release the oppressiveness somehow, thanks to David Draiman's growl. It's curious that I feel this way, because the version by Simon and Garfunkel is actually more perky than the version by Disturbed. 

I've been thinking if there is some happenings which I relate to the Simon and Garfunkel's version in my past and that would be the reason why it feels so oppressive for me... but I haven't really gotten hang of that even for this. 

Anyway, I love this version by Disturbed. David Drainman's voice is just perfect for this song! I don't really know what the song is about but it's the same with anyone, it seems. There has been speculation that the song would be about John F. Kennedy's assassination or maybe it's against Vietnam war.
