Rakastan Maija Poppasta!! Se on yksi lemppari Disney -elokuvani. Aikoinan katsoin tätä uudestaan ja uudestaan kun sain ystävältäni vanhan suomeksi dubatun VHS:n lainaksi. Nyt omistan DVD:n ja olen päässyt katsomaan elokuvan alkuperäisillä äänillään.
Rakastan Julie Andrewsiä! Minusta hän on täydellinen Maija Poppanen! Vaikka Disneyn toiminta ei ehkä ollut erinomaisen täydellistä kaikin tavoin elokuvaa tehdessä, olen iloinen, että he pitivät päänsä taiteellisista ratkaisuista kirjailijan vastusteluista huolimatta. Pitäisi lukea alkuperäiset P.L. Travesin Maija Poppaset mutta pelkään, että niissä Maija Poppanen on paljon tiukempi ja tiukkapipoisempi.
Elokuvan musiikki on todella tarttuvaa ja osaankin melkein kaikki biisit ulkoa. Myös elokuvan miljöö on upea kuten myös puvustus ja onhan elokuva ollutkin yksi uraauurtava etappi elokuvahistoriassa kaikkine erikoistehosteineen.
Toivoisin, että joskus pääsisin vielä tekemään Maija Poppasta musikaalia lavalle. Totta kai haaveilen itse Maija Poppasen roolista mutta epäilen, ettei siihen ikinä enää rooliteta näin vanhaa, lihavaa ja rupsahtanutta :/

36th song is Mary Poppins - A Spoonful of Sugar
I love Mary Poppins!! It's one of my favourite Disney movies. At one time I watched this again and again when I had borrowed the VHS with a Finnish dub from my friend. Now I have a DVD and I can watch the movie with original voices.
I love Julie Andrews! I think she's the perfect Mary Poppins! Although, Disney's actions while making the movie wasn't practically perfect in every way, I'm still glad that they didn't compromise with their artistic solutions despite of the author's resistance. I should read the original Mary Poppins by P.L. Traves but I'm afraid the Mary Poppins in them is much more strict and tight-ass than in movies.
The music in the movies is very catchy and I know almost every one of the songs by heart. The milieu and costumes are also fantastic and after all the movie was one of the ground breaking thing in film industry with its many special effects.
I hope that someday I can perform this musical on stage. Of course I'm dreaming of becoming Mary Poppins but I doubt that there will be ever the time when Mary Poppins would be old and fat :/
