Viva Forever Spice Girls!

Tunnustaudun vanhaksi Spice Girls faniksi. Tämä on bändi jota oikeasti fanitin. Huoneeni oli vuorattu julisteilla, lehtileikkeillä ja olipa minulla seinälippukin Mel C:stä! Keräsin kaiken tiedon jonka vain sain bändistä kokoelmiini. Albumeita (kahta ensimmäistä) kuuntelin joka päivä taukoamatta. Istanbulin ja Wimbledonin keikat minulla oli nauhalla ja ne oli katsottu melkein puhki. Osasin biisit, osasin tanssit. Naapurini ja paras ystäväni oli myös kova fani ja harrastuksenamme oli mm. piirtää keikkojen vaatteita. Naapurillani oli myös varastossa oma "kerhohuone" jossa pidimme Spice Girls -kerhoa. Ilman ystävääni en oikeastaan olisi varmaan edes tutustunut Spice Girlsiin (tai ken tietää...). 

Lempparini oli Mel C. Pulska ja epäurheilumainen kun olin, niin silti aina esitin Mel C:tä kun luokkalaisteni kanssa esitimme Spice Girlsejä. 

Viva Forever on kaunis kappale! Se oli sitä aikoinaan ja se on sitä edelleen. Nykyään ei tule enää Spice Girlsejä kuunneltua kauheasti. Ehdin kuitenkin hieman innostua kun tekivät comebackin ja heidän oli tarkoitus tulla Suomeen (jopa Geri!), mutta sitten joutuivat taas riitoihin ja eihän siitä mitään tullut. Olin muksuna ollut katkera kun en ollut päässyt Spice Girlsien keikalle, ja tuskin tulen pääsemäänkään. En ole myöskään ollut kauhean kiinnostunut heidän uusimmistaan levyistä. Jo kolmas albumi, Forever, jäi itselläni vähälle kuuntelulle enkä ole ihan uusinta levyä kuullut koskaan. Kaksi ensimmäistä albumia ovat kyllä eldelleen kovia.

Viva Forever Spice Girls!

I confess, I was a big Spice Girls fan. This is the band which I really fanned out. My room was covered with posters, articles and I even had a wall flag of Mel C! I gathered all the information I could get of them into my collections. The albums (the first two) I listened daily and without a break. The gigs from Istanbul and Wimbledon I recorded and almost worn them out. I knew the songs, I knew the dances. My neighbour and best friend was as big fan as I was and one of our hobbies was to draw the clothes used in gigs etc. My neighbour also had a little "clubroom" in their warehouse and there we held our Spice Girls club. Without my friend I don't think I would have never introduced myself to Spice Girls (well, who knows....)

My favourite was Mel C. And of course, even though I was a fat kid and definitely not athletic a bit, I always played Mel C when we were playing Spice Girls with my school mates.

Viva Forever is a beautiful song! It was, and it still is. Nowadays I don't really listen Spice Girls anymore. But I did got excited a little bit when they announced a comeback and they were going to come to Finland (even Geri!) but of course, before they got here they started to fight and that was it. I were so angry when I was a child I couldn't get to their gigs and now it seems that I will never get there. Also, I haven't been really interested of their new albums. Even the third album, Forever, I've listened very little and I haven't even heard their latest album yet. The first two albums were wonderful, though!
