Minulla ei ole minkäänlaista muistikuvaa miten tutustuin Poets of the Falliin mutta se kolahti ensimmäisen albumin julkaisun aikoihin. Hankin tämän heidän ensimmäisen albuminsa aika tuoreeltaan mikä jo sinänsä on aika harvinaista minulta. Yleensä löydän bändit vasta monien vuosien jälkeen niiden ensimmäisten albumien julkaisuista.
Tämä levy oli hyvä, ja sitä on tullut kuunneltua aikoinaan paljonkin. Varsinkin tämä Illusion & Dream biisi oli kovassa kulutuksessa. Tässä on jotain todella hienoa. En yleensä välitä kitarasooloistakaan sen enempiä mutta biisin lopussa oleva kitarasoolo on upea. Ja tätä on ihana laulaa tunteella ja kovaa. Pidän myös lopun kuiskailusta. Markon äänessä on myös jotain hienoa ja erikoista ja erikoisia ovat myös bändin musiikkivideot jos en väärin muista.
Jostain kumman syystä muut levyt ovat jääneet vähemmälle kulutukselle. Oikeastaan omistan vain tämän ensimmäisen ja toisen ja loppuja en ole kauheasti edes kuullut kuin biisin sieltä ja toisen täältä. Mikä on todella harmi. Pidän bändistä enemmänkin, mutta jotenkin elämä meni vain sellaiseen suuntaan, että itse musiikin kuuntelulle ei enää ole kauheasti jäänyt aikaa ja kokonaisten levyjen kuuntelu on Spotifyn myötä vähentynyt entisestään. Sitä mieluummin laittaa vain randomilla tulemaan joltain listalta mitä hyvänsä. Yleensä se johtuu siitä että ei vain tiedä mitä kuuntelisi, vaihtoehtoja on välillä liikaa tälläkin saralla. Ah niitä aikoja kun pystyi kuuntelemaan vain omistamiaan levyjään omalla levysoittimella. Tavallaan haikailen noihin aikoihin vaikkakin Spotify on tällä hetkellä aikamoinen pelastus ja ihana asia.
Olen nähnyt bändin ainakin kerran livenä. Muistaakseni Euroviisupäivänä kun Lordi voitti Euroviisut. Lavalta välillä huudeltiin tuloksia ja meininki oli myös sen mukainen kun Lordi voitti :D

17th song is Poets of the Fall - Illusion & Dream
I don't have a clue how I found Poets of the Fall, but it found its way to my heart at the times the first album was released. I bought this first album as a fresh which is very rare thing for me to do. Most of the times I'll find bands after many years from their first album's release.
This album was good and I've listened it many times at that time. Especially this Illusion & Dream I listened a lot. There's something wonderful about this song. Most of the times I don't really care guitar solos but the solo at the end is amazing. And it's wonderful to sing this with a feeling and loud. I also like the whispering at the end. There's also something fine and extraordinary about Marko's voice, and the band's music videos are also very peculiar if I remember right.
For the reason unknown for me, I haven't heard the other albums as much. Actually, I own this first one and the second one and others I haven't even heard much, except songs here and there. It's a shame. I do love the band, but somehow my life got a direction where I haven't had time to really listen music anymore, and because of Spotify I don't really listen whole albums anymore. I'd rather put some playlists on shuffle and listen whatever. Most of the times it's because I don't really know what to listen, there's too much options. Oh, those days when you could listen only the ones you had in your own collection and with your own CD player. I kind of miss those days, although, Spotify is fine thing and it has saved me lot of times.
I've seen the band live at least once. If I remember right, it was on Eurovision day and that day Lordi won the competition. Once a while the band told the audience the results and after the Lord had won the gig was on a fire :D
