Max Raabe on erikoisuus. En edes muista miten häneen tutustuin, mutta onneksi tutustuin. Vähäeleisyys, pistämätön huumori, hienot biisit, jännä ääni. Myös Palast Orchesterin live-esiintymiset ovat humoristisia ja aivan mahtavia. Olen kerran nähnyt Raaben ja Orchesterin livenä ja oli hieno kokemus! Olen useaan otteeseen katsonut myös livetaltioinnin josta tuo Youtube pätkäkin on. 

Minuun jonkin verran vetoo nämä 20-30-luvun biisit mutta esittävät nämä muutakin, mm. Britney Spearsin Oops, I did it again  mutta myös esim. elokuvasävelmiä kuten Singing in the Rain mutta myös rokkia We Will Rock You  tosin, kaikki on tehty 20-30-luvun huumori/puhelaulutyylillä ja orkesterin kanssa. Jollain kierolla tavalla toimii!

Pidän tuosta Maxin rauhallisesta olemuksesta ja tavasta mennä nojailemaan pianon äärelle instrumentaali tauoilla. Max osaa myös viheltää mahtavasti.

Max Raabe is peculiarity. I can't remember how I got to know him but luckily I did. Minor gestures, unbeatable humour, fine songs, peculiar voice. Also the live performances of the Palast Orchester are full of humour and amazing. I've seen Raabe and Orchester live once and it was wonderful experience! I've also watched that live recording which you can see a glimpse from the Youtube clip. 

Somehow I'm drawn to these 20's and 30's songs but they do perform else too, like Oops, I did it again from Britney Spears, and also movie melodies like Singing in the Rain but also some rock like We Will Rock You  although, all of them are done with 20's and 30's humour/speak style and with and orchestra. In some twisted way they work very nicely!

I like the calm attitude of Max and I like his habit to go leaning on the piano when there's instrumental break in the song. Max can also whistle very nicely.
